One of those actors whose name you can't remember, but whose face you know you've seen somewhere, George diCenzo appeared in over 30 films and countless television programs during his lifetime. His career began with the cult soap opera "Dark Shadows"--not as an actor, but as an associate producer. DiCenzo would eventually appear in an episode himself, which led to parts in the early '70s films "Across 110th Street" and "Going Home." From there, he acted in various television movies and shows, including such crime dramas as "S.W.A.T.," "Kojak," and "The Streets of San Francisco." DiCenzo's first major screen role was Major Benchley in the sci-fi classic "Close Encounters of the Third Kind," and he later appeared in "The Frisco Kid," "The Ninth Configuration," and "Back to the Future." Throughout the '80s and '90s, until his death in 2010, DiCenzo's credits included television work, films, and voice roles for cartoon shows. One of his last movie roles was in "A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints," which featured an all-star cast that included Robert Downey Jr.
